This rooftop pop-up bar and restaurant off Brick Lane, serving wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas by Pizza Pilgrims, is supported by Aperol (a bitter rhubarb liqueur), so you can guess what spritzes it specialises in. Open Thursday to Saturday until 29 September, it offers live entertainment and a three-course meal. The sunsets over the City should be spectacular.

For a filling supper

Gola’s owner, Aaron, is fabulously arty and has created one-off pieces throughout this cosy, kitsch restaurant. The traditional Italian food is done well, whether you choose pizza, calzone or one of the hearty pastas. The large spritzes, made properly with prosecco and soda and garnished with orange, are a must (£7.50).

This trendy hotspot has tables inside for chillier days, or if it’s sunny, you could grab one of the chairs outside and look out over the water. Tuck into homemade spaghetti, burrata, caponata, fegato alla veneziana (Venetian-style liver with polenta), or cicchetti (Italian tapas), and kick off with a Campari or Aperol spritz (£6).
