On colour correcting

For years I have found myself applying colour-corrective make-up on top of the tan I applied to reduce redness, brighten skin or whatever. I then had a light-bulb moment to combine the two. By this I mean adding green, peach or violet pigments to a tanning formula to give a brighter, more even complexion.

On body confidence

I’ve worked in the industry for more than 10 years and tanned stars from Kate Moss to Blake Lively and Sienna Miller, as well as plenty of non-celebs. Without exception every woman apologises for parts of her body she’s not comfortable with. I think all bodies are beautiful, though. My new tanning brand, Isle of Paradise, is the first to use a plus-size model in its campaign — the whole category needed to change.
