A loved-up pair of Shetland ponies have donned specially-designed festive jumpers for Christmas Racing Weekend at Ascot.
Daffy and Daphne allegedly fell ‘head over hoof’ for each other after a lucky chance encounter, and spent the day in their festive outfits together.
“Daffy was getting a bit lonely in his stables, so it’s lovely that Ascot has helped find him a new companion and made them matching Christmas outfits,” said Daffy’s owner, Jackie Rowberry.
“Daffy and Daphne will enjoy a lovely Christmas together and I couldn’t be happier for them.”

The festive outfits sported by the loved-up couple are in aid of Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day at Ascot, where donations will be collected for the charity on Saturday December 17.
Ascot is calling on racegoers to follow the couple’s lead and don their festive finery for Christmas Racing Weekend.
