Where can I get
flattering gym gear?
Most gym-goers work out either close to work or home.
Given that you're therefore likely to see people you know, you want to look
presentable. I'm no fan of logoed-up, revealing Lycra, so the answer is simple:
jersey. Specifically loopback cotton jersey, which softens with every wash. The
classic colour is marl grey, but navy and charcoal don't show up sweat so much.
Look to Sunspel (sweat top, above, £95, sunspel.com) and J Crew for logo-free
sweats. As for T-shirts, I swear by Derek Rose's Naturally range. Team with
Nike Air Max and you can look cool even when you're very hot.
This proudly independent shop just behind Carnaby Street is
the latest venture from the guys who used to run b Store. Laid out like a still
life, the shop is a combination of cool brands such as Marwood and Opening
Ceremony, emerging local talent and its own seasonless UK-made label. Worth
seeking out. 21 Kingly Street, W1 (other-shop.com)
