What it promises: Combining the very latest technology with the most highly active products, Aromatherapy Associates newly launched Aroma Skin Radiance Facials have been designed to unite the brand’s signature hands-on therapy, intensive natural ingredients and now, to create the ‘ultimate facial’, the power of electrical currents, designed to tone facial muscles, help erase fine lines and re-plump the skin for instant results.

What it actually does: This is a truly luxurious facial that I would recommend to anyone. I had my treatment in the luxurious setting of the Mandarin Hotel and my therapist, Jessica, used products matched to my skin – namely a host of syrupy and delicious smelling concoctions. Even the rose water used to cleanse between lotions and potions smelt amazing. But it’s far from just your average flouncy aromatherapy facial, this one packs a punch. After half an hour of lymphatic drainage massage, a wand of galvanic currents was used over a sheet of muslin to lift and firm the skin. Apart from being a little noisy against the Sounds of the Sea, it was completely painless and left my skin feeling firm. Afterwards, I spent an hour or so in the relaxation room before heading home with a goofy smile on my face and a glow to my skin. Absolute bliss.
