A Scotch whisky is to go on sale at Harrods costing £2,000 a bottle.

Made by Chivas Regal, it is a blend of rare whiskies from more than 20 distilleries across Scotland, including Strath-isla, the oldest operating distillery in the Highlands.

Each bottle, pictured, comes with a hand-blown crystal decanter in homage to the original 1909 green Chivas Regal bottle.

The whisky, The Icon, has been designed by Chivas Regal’s master blender Colin Scott, with a limited number of bottles produced each year.

It goes on sale in March and is also available at The Whisky Exchange.

The world’s dearest whisky is the $6.2 million (£4.3 million) Isabella’s Islay — in a decanter encrusted with 8,500 diamonds and 300 rubies — while in 2014, a bottle of Macallan “M” whisky sold at auction in Hong Kong for £438,000.
