McDonald’s has launched vegan McNuggets.

The new product swaps out the chicken breast filling for a mix of potato, chickpeas, onions, carrot and corn wrapped in breadcrumb coating, giving them the effect of regular nuggets.

The catch? The plant-based item is currently only available in Norway, where the fast food chain is trialling them to see if they are popular enough to become part of the main McDonald’s menu.

This isn’t the first vegan product McDonald’s has launched this year. The chain also launched the ‘McFalafel’ in Sweden made from chickpeas, parsley, garlic, and cumin. Our Scandinavian neighbours have also been the first to try the ‘McVegan’ burger, with Sweden and Finland getting first dibs on that.

Let’s hope our friends in Norway lap up the vegan McNuggets so they can land on UK shores soon.
