Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Kardashians, fat-jabs and sparkling gowns rule red carpet Stars flocked to the annual Vanity Fair after party after the 97th Academy Awards

There is only one place to head after the Academy Awards — and that is the storied, annual Vanity Fair Oscars party.

This year, hosted by the magazine’s editor Radhika Jones, it was a mixing pot of fat-jabbed actors flaunting their couture gowns and not a few golden statues.

White was on the menu, led by Kim Kardashian who opted for a custom Balenciaga Haute Couture look — gown from the front, trousers from the back. She was joined in bridal-esque looks by Chrissy Teigen in Andrew Kwon, Lindsay Lohan in Balenciaga, Julia Garner in feathered Gucci, and Londoner Raye, in Jacquemus.

Standout outfits included Rosalía’s, sheer, corseted number hot off Dilara Findikoglu’s triumphant London Fashion Week catwalk. K-pop star Lisa wore a gothic, Miss Sohee number, while Cynthia Erivo chose a tulle, Vivienne Westwood frock.

Boring now are the top models wearing variously spruced vintage runway looks from the nineties. Kendall Jenner, wearing Mugler SS92, and Kaia Gerber, in a Valentino slip from SS97, both looked great, obviously, but retreating to these “cool” looks is getting tired. It would be far more exciting to see them support a young designer, such as Findikoglu or Sohee.
