Met Gala 2024 after party looks: the best unseen outfits after the ball from Shakira to Jeff Bezos The night doesn’t end after the Met Gala. Certainly if FKA Twigs, Stella McCartney or Burberry have anything to do with it

The party starts on the Met steps — but New York is alive and kicking with celebrities on the loose when the Gala wraps up. And, it being fashion’s biggest night out, that calls for outfit number two (or, in many cases, three). 

While the whole affair has been somewhat sanitised (certainly compared to 2017’s cigarettes-in-bog edition) and meister of the after party outfit Katy Perry (cue the Moschino hamburger dress, circa 2019) didn’t even attend, some stars did pull out the stops after dark.

They were led by Kendall Jenner who put on a commendable show for the main event in an elfin, Givenchy Haute Couture from autumn winter 1999 outfit designed by then creative director Alexander McQueen, and kept on theme wearing another Givenchy by McQueen look with angel wing corset and white silk satin waterfall skirt from Spring Summer 1997 after.

Stella McCartney joined TikTok and Casamigos to host a ritzy bash at Casa Cruz NY which attracted a typical stellar group of familiar faces, from Penélope Cruz and Matt Damon to Cara Delevingne, Lewis Hamilton, Karlie Kloss, Baz Luhrmann. Other London friends joining McCartney in raising a tequila were Sienna Miller, Charlotte Tilbury and Ed Sheeran.

Similarly high stakes was FKA Twigs’ post-Met bash, which took place at the storied The Standard, High Line, and saw Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and girlfriend Lauren Sánchez sidle up by Kris Kardashian and Corey Gamble. Lil Nas X arrived with Camila Cabello, but all eyes appeared to be on the spontaneous voguers on the dancefloor.

Elsewhere, Burberry and creative director Daniel Lee threw a bash at Caviar Kaspia, having dressed a stellar bunch for the Met counting Naomi Campbell, Lewis Hamilton and Jodie Turner-Smith, who were named as hosts for the after party. 

Perhaps Burberry’s best dressed guest was Chioma Nnadi, the new head of editorial content at British Vogue, who joined other revellers counting Adrian Brody, Chloe Sevigny, Marc Jacobs, Christian Cowan and Sam Smith at the post-Gala baked potato and caviar strewn soirée.

Another Brit, Raye, spent the early hours singing for Porsche And Soho House's Electric Night Of Fashion At Soho House New York, where she was joined by Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan who had traded in his Fagin-esque Burberry Met outfit for a beige tracksuit with cobalt blue tee and fresh white trainers. The top hat was never going to last all night.
