Manolo Blahnik says he "adored" working with the "captivating" Rihanna on a collection of six denim shoes.
The 73-year-old shoe designer admitted that he found denim "boring", but said: "When I met with Rihanna, she said ‘Would you mind if I would suggest working with jeans in the collection.’ Somehow, it worked."
The iconic shoe designer also revealed that when he first met Rihanna he was "mystified by her beauty" and thought "that girl has got something unique."
"She said to me 'I'd love to have denim covered in pearls'."
"The high boot is very sensous. It's for a woman who knows what they want, a decisive woman, a woman who wants to go for it and she's very confident in herself."
Speaking of their conversations, Blahnik revealed his admiration for the musician. "Talking to her is perfection. The two seconds I talk to her, she is always very kind and particularly tender. She's a very sweet person."
