Dua Lipa and Donatella Versace co-design exclusive collection

Dua Lipa has been a Versace girl for some time and now she and Donatella have announced they will join forces on a summer womenswear collection dubbed “La Vacanza.”

The see-now, buy-now collection will be unveiled in on May 23 with a fashion show in Cannes. The event will take place in the same week as the Cannes Film Festival, although not as part of the official line-up. Given how many celebrities will be in the French coastal town, we can no doubt expect a star-studded affair both on and off the runway.

“Working with Dua on this collection has been very exciting and I love the dynamic between us,” Donatella said in a release. “Dua is strong, fearless, and free and her creative vision is exceptional. Summer is a magical time. We will capture this feeling and the colours of that time of the year with a truly special and intimate fashion show in Cannes.”

Little is known of the collection as yet, but no doubt it will feature plenty of holiday-ready party dresses of the sort Lipa wore to open and close the Versace runway show in Milan back in September — the British singer’s first runway appearance.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have co-designed the women’s La Vacanza collection for Versace with Donatella,” said Lipa, who fronted the Versace Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign and wore three Versace outfits to the 2021 Grammy Awards, and opted for the brand again for the Grammy’s in 2022.

“She and I have formed such a strong bond over the years, and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from her and the whole team since the very beginning of my career. For her to give me the honour of co-designing this collection and letting all my summer inspirations go wild has been a dream. I am so very proud of this collection and cannot wait to debut it in Cannes.”

The La Vacanza collection will be available in store and online on Versace.com immediately following the show on May 23.
