While Stephen Fry's 'bag lady' remark may be the most controversial style moment from last night's BAFTA awards, there were a lot more looks worthy of note.
One of the first on the red carpet was two-time nominee Alicia Vikander - and face of Louis Vuitton - who wore a floor-length leather gown by the French fashion house with edgy silver studded detailing.
In keeping with the look, Vikander showed of a vampy dark lip but softened the overall aesthetic with relaxed hair in tousled waves pulled over one shoulder.
Another nominee who stood out was Cate Blanchett, who plumped for a custom embellished Alexander McQueen gown.

With detailed, colourful embroidery flowing into a black, feathered skirt, the piece was the perfect combination of drama and elegance.
One star whose look divided opinion was Dree Hemingway, whose high neck Erdem gown was one of our personal favourites.
With floral patterning and sheer elements, the material was light enough to avoid drowning the actress despite the piece's rich design.
