It does not look like we are all, in fact, in this together, at least according to High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens' latest Instagram video.
In the now-deleted video, which was swiftly reposted on Twitter and then Instagram, the actress talked about the public's reaction to coronavirus.
In the short video, she said, "Ummm. Yeah, 'til July sounds like a bunch of bulls**t, I'm sorry. It's a virus, like I get it, I respect it, but at the same time even if everyone gets it - yeah, people are gonna die!"
She ends the video by saying it's "terrible, but inevitable" and then giggling before adding, "I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be doing this right now."
The Twitter reactions were swift, with many people calling for her "cancellation" and saying she was only upset because Coachella has been postponed.
Hudgens, 31, has since apologized for her actions and changed her Twitter bio to read, "STAY IN!!!! Don’t go out. Let’s get thru this together."
In an Instagram story, she said that her comments have been "taken out of context."
She said, "Hey guys. I'm so sorry for the way I have offended anyone and everyone who has seen the clip from my Instagram live yesterday. I realize my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now. This has been a huge wake up call about the significance my words have, now more than ever."
