MPs to launch new Hinduja probe

The Hinduja "cash-for-passports" affair - which claimed the Cabinet scalp of Peter Mandelson - returned to haunt the Government today as it emerged that MPs are to reopen the case.

An all-party committee is to quiz Cabinet Secretary Sir Richard Wilson and John Gieve, permanent secretary at the Home Office, about claims of an alleged telephone call by Peter Mandelson - which he denies - to Immigration Minister Mike O'Brien on behalf of the billionaire Indian brothers.
