It feels both jazzy and understated at the same time. As for what to eat, from a menu offering all-day breakfast, sandwiches, plates, salads and cakes, we enjoyed the London porker hog roast sandwich in a crusty roll (£12.90) - quite messy but totally delicious - and a poached lobster sandwich with thousand island dressing in a glazed roll (£18.50), served with generous amounts of lobster in a rich buttery dressing. Of the many cakes on offer from a changing daily selection, the best was the carrot cake (£6.90): a huge slab of moist, nutmeg-spiced sponge, packed with walnuts and triple layered with a rich and sour frosted icing.
