The estate of the late comedian Robin Williams, in Napa Valley, California, has sold for £12.7 million.

With 640 acres, Villa Sorriso features a 22,000sq ft house plus a tennis court, pool, stables and outbuildings, all originally designed for Williams and his family.

It was bought through Pacific Union, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, by Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of the famed Bordeaux winemaking family.

This is their first acquisition outside France. They plan to make wine in Napa that will be consistent with their Château Pontet-Canet wines, but reflect its Mount Veeder origins.
