Speaking of convenience foods, that one we all resort to, frozen puff pastry, seemed to have been used both for the first course pissaladiëre (onion tart) and the dessert of tarte fine aux pommes (apple tart). There is nothing wrong with the product, it is just that both dishes would have benefited from a different sort of base, and, in the case of the dessert, thin glazed slices of the fruit, not a sort of compote.
