Pun fun: the Egg Sheeran doughnut lands in Doughnut Time stores from March 16

To celebrate the arrival of Easter, the Aussie dough shop have boxed together four brand new doughnuts.

If you have never heard of them before, Doughnut Time's creations are often inspired by all sorts of popular culture madness. To date, special one-offs on the menu have included everything from the Sia Later to the Slim Shady. And yes, they are probably going to do something for the Royal Wedding, too.

The latest addition to their puntastic family is The Egg Sheeran, a nod to everyone's favourite flame-haired ginger musical superstar, Ed Sheeran. Imagine a soft, bouncy pillow of a doughnut filled with chocolate custard, covered in strawberry glaze and crowned with mini eggs and confetti sprinkles – sounds like the Norwich singer all over, doesn't it?

At £4.50, the Sheeran doesn't come cheap. It's also part of the four pack with their other Easter compadre (The Yolk Addict, Tease Me Baby and Struck By A Smooth Caramel), at an equally absurd £18.

Sadly, we are yet to try it, but judging by what has been sent to us in the past, it's probably going to be good. Like an artisanal Krispy Kreme or uber posh Sainsbury's jam pack, to be precise.

The Egg Sheeran doughnut will be available from all Doughnut Time branches from March 16 to April 4, 2018.
