New rooftop bar launching in Wapping with croquet, lawn bowls and petanque
A new, very British rooftop destination is launching this summer on top of a disused car park in Wapping.
Themed to mimic a lawn club, Skylight promises preppy, garden party fun, with street food, bars, croquet, lawn bowls and petanque. Games will cost from £20 per team for an hour of croquet and from £15 per team for half an hour of petanque.
Sprawling over the top three floors of a former carpark in Tobacco Dock, and boasting a capacity of 600, the venue will offer views of the Shard, Gherkin and Walkie Talkie.
There will also be bars on each level, serving light, summery drinks – think spritzes, ice-filled cocktail pitchers and an array of beers and ciders – and food from the likes of We Serve Humans and Greek specialists Yiro.
With free entry, Skylight will open each Thursday and Friday from 5pm until 11pm, and on weekends from midday until 11pm. Organisers are also promising one off special events, with details to be confirmed, and say the venue can be booked out for private parties.
