One of the UK’S biggest bowling firms has unveiled a new-look Americana-inspired alley after a surge in visitors.

The Hollywood Bowl, formerly the Brooklyn Bowl, has opened at The O2 following a major refurbishment to attract concert-goers and families.

The Seventies decor has been replaced by bare brick, neon lighting and a Hollywood Diner serving gourmet burgers, hotdogs and craft beer.

Teams can now wear their own footwear to play on one of the alley’s 12 lanes. There are also roped-off VIP areas, an amusement arcade, an American pool area and two new bars.

The firm was floated on the stock exchange following the Brexit vote and figures from the end of last year showed its revenue had risen by 24 per cent, to £106 million. It spent £7.8million last year updating its 57 alleys.
