Never mind dedicating a day, this restaurant dedicated an entire menu to the chestnut earlier in the season. You can still pick up chestnut dishes at this restaurant at the Bulgari Hotel, including a ricotta and chestnut ravioli, served with more wintry satisfaction in the form of a pumpkin veloute.
The chestnut may not be the most exclusive sounding of food stuffs but if you want the fanciest chestnut in London, head to The Connaught. Alongside dishes featuring caviar, wagyu beef and white truffle, Helene Darroze’s 2 Michelin star restaurant at the famed hotel serves up a dish of chestnut with kumquat and grapefruit.
Spice up your chestnut experience with some Mediterranean flavours at Moro. For a real winter warmer, you can pick up a starter of chestnut and chorizo soup as part of their Christmas menu, before moving on to roast pork belly served with quince alioli, roast vegetables and, you guessed it, chestnuts.
Enjoying this particular festive favourite doesn’t mean you have to go full veg – or be particularly high brow about it. Get cheeky with your chestnuts at Nando’s where their South African inspired Christmas burger features spiced chicken breast fillet and a flame grilled thigh, cranberry sauce, crispy onions and festive slaw, along with a hefty wedge of mushroom and chestnut pate.
