Dalston's The Nest to reopen as revamped late-night venue UNDRUpcoming: UNDR will open its doors on September

One of Dalston's favourite nightclubs is getting a new lease of life.

The Nest, a highlight of London's intimate clubbing scene, will reopen under new ownership on September 7 and will go by the name of UNDR.

Its revamped basement space will house an upgraded Martin Audio sound system, reprogrammed lighting and 20 newly installed lasers.

The venue will also have a 4am music license, making it one of the latest-opening venues in the area.

Both live music and club nights will be hosted throughout the week by UNDR, which will aim to “showcase the best up-and-coming talent in music alongside some legends”.

“I believe The Nest was always the best intimate experience in the capital,” said Matt Wells, the venue’s new owner. “We’ve now improved the core elements of that experience, namely the Martin Audio sound and lighting.”

A full programme of upcoming events at UNDR is promised to arrive “in the coming days”.

It follows news of another new London club, Canning Town’s FOLD, a 24-hour club which opened its doors earlier in August.
