Going for a cheeky Nando’s is already a pretty thrilling occasion, and now it’s about to get cultural too: there will soon be an art gallery inside the Soho branch.
The restaurant on Frith Street will host a pop-up gallery showcasing the work of seven South African artists, all of whom have their art on the walls of Nando’s restaurants across the country.
Feast Your Eyes: A Taste of South African Art will run from July 14-16, with visitors able to buy the works on show. No more will the decision of which two sides to choose be the hardest one you make inside a Nando’s.
Artist Henk Serfontein will be around for visitors to talk to about their art over the weekend (July 15-16), and mosaicists and beaders will also be creating live art within the gallery.
Other artists with works on show are Marlise Keith, Luzamba, Nomthunzi Mashalaba, Norman O’Flynn and Shakes Tembani.
