Strictly viewers were left cringing as the BBC aired a very romantic dance between married professionals Katya and Neil Jones just hours after photos of Katya kissing dance partner Seann Walsh emerged.
Pre-recorded on Saturday night but aired after the photos were published on Sunday, the couple performed a racy routine to Gladys Knight’s Licence to Kill.
The awkwardness of the situation didn’t escape viewers, who were quick to vent their unease on Twitter.
“Got a licence to kill, anyone who tries to tear us apart” ... Certainly felt awkward watching Katya and Neil dancing to that song! #StrictlyComeDancing #awkward,” one person wrote.
“Not gonna lie, watching Katya and Neil dance to a License to Kill was awkward to say the least. #Strictly #scd,” posted another.
One person wrote: “I can’t be the only one cringing at Katya dancing with her husband after those photos were released.... surely. StrictlyComeDancing."
Comedian Walsh, 32, and the 29-year-old professional dancer were snapped “snogging like a pair of teenagers” after a boozy night out in London, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The pair have since put out public apologises, describing the passionate kiss as a “drunken mistake”.
Walsh wrote on Twitter: “In light of the story in today's newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.
“This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.”

Katya added: “I'm so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn't thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”
