The list of celebrities headed for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing continues to expand, with R&B singer Jamelia now confirmed for the show.

The singer is the 12th confirmed contestant for the series, which is due to return to BBC One this Autumn.

“My girls are huge fans of Strictly, but when I told them I was doing it they laughed as they know that dancing is not my forté!" she said. "The girls are amazing dancers though so I definitely want to learn a new skill so that I'll be able to give them a run for their money, and end them teasing me once and for all!”

The announcement came via the official Strictly feed on Twitter.

Jamelia, who is a regular panellist on ITV chat show Loose Women, will be joining fellow singers Peter Andre, Daniel O'Donnell, and Jay McGuinness on the 2015 series.

Other confirmed contestants include Jeremy Vine, celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, EastEnders’ Kellie Bright, Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote, BBC Presenter Katie Derham, weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo, and broadcaster Anita Rani.

Call The Midwife star Helen George and fashion guru Gok Wan are also said to be joining the show, though neither has yet been confirmed by the BBC.
