After ten weeks in the competition, Ed Balls has finally left Strictly Come Dancing 2016.
The former Shadow Chancellor found himself in the dance-off for the first time against Judge Rinder, and was sent home by the judges.
Balls and partner Katya Jones lost out on a place in the quarter finals after performing a tango to the Rolling Stones' (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all opted to save Rinder, with Bussell citing his “better technical ability”.
“If people watching have had half the fun I’ve had learning to dance with Katya, they must have had a complete blast,” said Balls upon leaving.
Speaking on his dance partner, he said: “Above all, the only reason we’ve been able to learn and entertain is because of Katya.
“She’s going to go on to be a total dynamite knockout star.”
Balls also praised the “wonderful” band, and thanked “all the people who have kept me in this long”.
