Pop star Jay McGuiness is the latest star to join this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, it has been revealed.
Announcing the news while chatting to Matt Edmondson on his Radio One show on Monday, The Wanted star said:
“My family are such huge Strictly fans, I know I've made them very happy by taking part - I can’t wait to get started.”
He added: “I love to dance but this is going to be so different from anything I have done before, I'm up for it.”

Confirming the news on their official Twitter account on Monday, the Strictly team tweeted:
“WANTED: Another #Strictly celebrity! Please welcome @TheWanted's @JayMcGuiness!”
McGuiness joins the likes of Peter Andre, Daniel O'Donnell, Katie Derham , Carol Kirkwood, Ainsley Harriott and boxer Anthony Ogogo, who was announced on Friday.

Other stars who will take to the dancefloor this year include EastEnders actress Kellie Bright and Corrie’s Georgia May Foote.
Last January, The Wanted announced that they would be taking a hiatus to pursue solo projects, with hopes to reunite at some point in the future.
