The announcement that James Martin would leave Saturday Kitchen left one question looming large: who will take over the popular weekend cooking chat show?
The answer is finally here – the show will be adopting a revolving line-up of guest hosts, and the first few names have been announced.
The first episode following Martin’s departure will be presented by Michel Roux Jr, the celebrity chef who previously judged MasterChef: The Professionals.
“I’m very much looking forward to being the first guest host of Saturday Kitchen,” Roux Jr said. “I’ve been a fan of the show for many years and can’t wait to cook up some magic with some of the great chefs the show attracts.”
He’s not the only famous chef to be taking over the series – other culinary experts set to host Saturday Kitchen include Lorraine Pascale, Rick Stein, and MasterChef’s John Torode.

Martin’s final show will air on Saturday, March 26. He announced in February that he would be stepping down after 10 years on the show.
“I wish the new chefs every success. I am looking forward to getting stuck into my new projects and to lots of lie-ins on a Saturday morning,” he said.
