Presented with a variety of colourful afros, the queens wig out as they give themselves a speedy makeover and show off their dance talents in “a good old-fashioned Soul Train dance-off”.
Jinkx Monsoon strikes it lucky with a wig that somehow matches her usual ginger hair colour, while Roxxxy Andrews plumps for the most voluminous afro she can get her hands on.

Then there’s the dancing itself – while Coco Montrese kicks things off with more traditional Saturday Night Fever-inspired moves, not every contestant possesses natural rhythm.
With arms flying around at every angle, Alaska debuts a move self-described as, erm, ‘the flailing chicken’.
“I’m featuring the flailing chicken. It’s not really a funky chicken, it’s more like a chicken that smells funky,” she laughs.
