Former S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole has admitted he regrets putting his BRIT award up for sale after the bids attracted a lot of media attention.

The 40-year-old hit the headlines last month when he posted the BRIT gongs he won with the band on eBay to shift them.

After a bidder offering £66,000 failed to pay, Cattermole was forced to put the award back on the market but insists it wasn’t a publicity stunt.

Speaking on Loose Women, the artist revealed: “It was no way a PR thing. I didn’t expect it to go how it did. I regret, in a way, how it has gone.

“I was hoping to be able to sell them quietly, without there being a furore,” he added.

Cattermole, who has been open about his money problems, also said that he would really like to appear on reality TV shows including I’m A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing.

But he quipped: “I’ve tried to [do reality shows] but they just haven’t wanted me for whatever the reason.”
