Macaulay Culkin has poked fun at an “enormous plot hole” in Home Alone, the film that made him a star.
The actor mused over why his character, Kevin McCallister, didn't try get help from the police when he was attacked by robbers after being left at home on his own during the hit 1990 film.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about the film’s storyline, Culkin said: “This kid's a really clever kid, right?
“Like, these guys are about to break in, why doesn't he just call the cops?”
He went on: “He makes a master plan, he uses Micro Machines but for real, there's landlines — there are no cellphones but still [he could have called the police].
"I think that's the only thing and I think that's an enormous plot hole.”
Culkin laughed as he added: “I don’t actually spend my days thinking about it, that was just the only one I can think of right now!”
The 37-year-old, who has a new podcast Bunny Ears, live-tweeted the Academy Awards on Sunday night leaving his fans entertained with bizarre tweets.
In one in reference to Best Picture The Shape Of Water, he wrote: “Water takes the shape of whatever container it is in, this entire movie is horse s***. #Oscars.”
