Love Island fans are in for a treat as the brand new series will be the longest-running to date.

According to Radio Times, the smash hit ITV2 reality show will air for eight whole weeks this summer, which is a whole week longer than last year’s series.

The 2015 and 2016 series' of the show were just six weeks long, but were bumped up as popularity grew.

Caroline Flack is set to return to host the eagerly-awaited new series, with contestants given a whole new set of villa rules.

According to reports, this year’s set of singletons will have to be on their best behaviour as ITV bosses have imposed some strict sanctions.

During last year’s hit series, several of the contestants were filmed taking part in sexual activity and shown fully nude.

This summer’s series will reportedly see the wannabe stars banned from engaging in sexual activity after the consumption of alcohol.

They are also not allowed to be fully nude in front of fellow islanders, nor are they allowed to perform any solo sexual acts.

All contestants will be offered the chance to see a counselor after having sex and will be given a handbook detailing ever rule upon entering Casa Amora.

Former contestant Montana Brown recently admitted that she regretted having sex on the show and advised forthcoming Islanders not to do so.

“In hindsight, having sex on TV wasn’t the best idea. My advice to the new hopefuls is not to do it. If I could have done it differently, I wouldn’t have had sex,” she said.

Love Island returns to ITV2 later this year.
