Channel 4’s First Dates has become a firm favourite in recent years for its heart-warming (and occasionally heart-breaking) encounters.

But if you’ve always wanted to get a closer look at the action without being featured fully in an episode, your time is here.

The show is currently looking for ‘background’ diners to join the new series.

That means those chosen will get to dine at the Paternoster Chop House by St Paul’s without having to go through the awkwardness of a filmed date.

Even if you’re already in a relationship you can go for dinner as a couple – and you’ll get money off your bill too.

“Channel 4’s First Dates is returning and looking for couples and singles to come on as background daters in the First Dates restaurant,” the advert reads.

“You won’t be the main feature but you may appear in an episode and where the magic happens!
