What is Chimerica about?

The four-part series, an adaptation of the Olivier-award winning play, is set in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential election.

Veteran photojournalist Lee Berger sets out on a mission of his own to clear his name and rebuild his reputation after being accused of doctoring an image in Syria. In order to do this, Lee decides to dedicate his time to finding an elderly man he captured years ago in Tiananmen Square, staring down military tanks with his shopping in hand (we know this image as Tank Man). He’s convinced his subject is alive and living in New York City, waiting to be found.
