Mystery presenter, reveal yourself: Blind Date is making a comeback - but who will host the new series?RexAfter the successful return of The Crystal Maze, another beloved retro game show is set to make a comeback.
Blind Date is being revived on Channel 5 for more ridiculous puns and cheesy flirtations – and hopefully that iconic theme music too.
The show is tipped to be back on air before the end of 2017, but following the death of Cilla Black in 2015, the identity of a new presenter is currently up in the air.
Names said to be in the running include former Geordie Shore star and Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison, as well as Olly Murs, Georgia May Foote, and Helen Flanagan.
“Blind Date is the original dating show and it’s huge news to bring it back,” a source told The Sun.
“It’s a classic format that will be rebooted to make it young, sexy and modern. Expect sparks to fly.
“In an age of Tinder, you have got to earn the right to love on this show.”
Blind Date last aired in 2003, and saw hopeful (or hopeless) romantics pick a potential partner by asking them three questions.
