Big Brother has invited three former celebrity contestants, Gemma Collins, Nicola Mclean and Marnie Simpson, to make a return to the house.

This week’s shopping task will see the CBB stars treated as VIPs by the current housemates who will have to work as servants for the special guests, granting their every wish.

The announcement comes after rumours that show bosses would be sending celebrities into the house.

However the news may not be well received by BB fans who have already slated bosses for putting reality stars from shows like Ex on the Beach and Ibiza Weekender in the civilian series.

Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins and Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 2016, while glamour model Nicola McLean has appeared on both the 2012 and 2017 CBB series.

A spokesperson for Big Brother said in a statement: “For this week’s shopping task, Big Brother has invited Celebrity Big Brother favourites Nicola Mclean, Marnie Simpson and Gemma Collins to stay in the house.

“The housemates will have to earn their keep as they struggle to cater to the whims and diva demands of the VIP guests.”

It wasn’t revealed how long the guests will remain in the house, so viewers will have to tune in to find out whether their favourite former CBB housemate is in for the long haul or just popping in for the day.

BB fans can watch the current contestant’s reactions to the VIP guests in Wednesday’s episode of the show.

Big Brother continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
