The West End production of Hamilton opened its doors last night for its first preview, and it’s safe to say audiences were blown away.
The much-hyped hip hop musical about American history was due to open at the Victoria Palace Theatre on November 21, but delays to renovation work saw the opening pushed back.
Audiences certainly thought that it was worth the wait, tweeting their joy as soon as the show finished, writing that the show was met with a standing ovation.
Newcomer Jamael Westman plays the title role of Alexander Hamilton, originally played by the show's creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the West End.

Demand for tickets meant that they sold out on the first day, but the show recently announced a £10 daily ticket lottery for anyone trying to snap up a chance to see the show.
