The country is opening up again somewhat, but for gig-goers the news remains less exciting.

The line-up as a whole isn’t likely to inspire many mosh pits — which is for the best — with The Lightning Seeds, Beverley Knight and Gary Numan also on the bill, nor is it an opportunity for discovering hot new bands. West Lothian quartet The Snuts come closest to that category. They supported their fellow big-voiced Scot, Lewis Capaldi, on tour last autumn and have built a sizeable following Up North which is gradually trickling down here.

A new single, Elephants, has just been released, which is a sunny slice of indie guitar pop well-suited to the pleasant weather, and could position them as this generation’s Kooks. They’ll be playing for you in your car, at a London space still to be revealed, on August 8.
