The Strongroom Studios in Shoreditch is famously where the group, including Lady Beckham, 52, laid down their smash single "Wannabe" in 1996, launching them to global stardom.

The group, comprising Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell-Horner, also rehearsed their iconic dance routines in the venue's courtyard.

With "Wannabe" set to celebrate its 30th anniversary next month, Cruz posted to Instagram on Tuesday revealing he has paid a visit to the sitewhich is tied to the beginnings of the chart-topping girl group – also famed for hits including Stop and 2 Become 1.

Beckham, 21, shared a snap of the top of his head alongside a blue plaque, which read: “Spice Girls, 1996. Recorded Wannabe at Strongroom and held dance rehearsals in this courtyard.”

His mother shared the post to her almost 40 million followers as she enthusiastically reacted to the post, and wrote: “Cruzie!!!”

Lady Beckham has pivoted in recent years to focus on her career in fashion, but dominated the charts during her time in the Spice Girls until Halliwell-Horner – nicknamed Ginger Spice – shocked the world and left in 1998.

The rest of the group went their separate ways and announced an indefinite hiatus in December 2000, but reunited in 2012 for the closing ceremony of the London Summer Olympics and in 2019 for their Spice World tour – which did not feature Posh Spice.

Lady Beckham and her husband, former footballer Sir David Beckham, have previously spoken about how “proud” they are of their son Cruz – who is the only one of his four siblings to follow in the footsteps of his mother and pursue a music career.

The singer is the frontman of Cruz Beckham And The Breakers, which recently embarked on its first UK and European tour.

His band have released songs including For Your Love, Waste Your Pain and Optics, and will complete their first US tour this summer with dates in Washington DC, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
