Lola Young, 24, used an Instagram post on Saturday to tell fans that she intends to ease back into performing in the new year. She thanked supporters for giving her the space to recover and said she hopes to "gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams," adding that she looks forward to seeing audiences again.
Health break after a viral collapse
In September the singer announced she would be "going away for a while" and cancelled all tour dates after collapsing on stage during a New York concert. Video of Young swaying before falling backwards at the All Things Go music festival at Forest Hills Stadium went viral. The incident forced the cancellation of her remaining 2024 engagements, which had included planned stops in the United States, Mexico and Canada for November and December.
Fan and industry support
In her Instagram message Young wrote, "I've felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped more than you will ever know." Among the comments were messages of encouragement from DJ Annie Mac, presenter Clara Amfo and singer Pixie Lott.
Career highlights
Young has three UK top‑40 singles to her name, including "One Thing" and "Dealer", and was the recipient of The Ivors rising star award earlier this year. A few weeks before her collapse she released her third studio album, I’m Only F****** Myself, which peaked at number three on the UK albums chart.
