Myles Smith has cancelled his upcoming show in Vancouver, Canada, citing a major family health issue that requires his presence at home.
The British singer, who released his debut album My Mess, My Heart, My Life last month, announced the cancellation in a statement on Instagram. He explained that important appointments on August 4 made it impossible for him to perform as planned.
Family comes first
"To everyone who was planning on coming to the Vancouver show, you may have received a notification that the show has been cancelled," he wrote. "I wanted to explain why, because I never want to leave you in the dark. There has been a major family health issue at home, and important appointments are taking place on that date. I simply can't not be there. Family has to come first, and this wasn't a decision I made lightly."
He acknowledged the inconvenience for fans who had made travel and financial commitments, adding, "The fact that you continue to show up for me means more than I can put into words."
Smith reassured fans that the cancellation was specific to the Vancouver date and that the rest of his tour, including stops in Sacramento and across the UK, would proceed as scheduled. His North American leg includes performances in the United States before returning to the UK in October.
He emphasized his commitment to transparency and his rare history of cancellations, noting that in four years of touring, he had only previously called off four shows, all for reasons beyond his control.
"I don't say that to make excuses, but to show you how seriously I take the commitment of showing up for you," he wrote.
Smith, known for singles like Stargazing and Nice To Meet You, won the Rising Star award at the 2025 Brit Awards and received three nominations.
