Paper Mario: The Origami King is going to change things up from its predecessor.
As opposed to having set chapters like previous games in the series, The Origami King will instead feature a seamless open world to explore.
As you traverse the edges and creases of the paper world in the new Nintendo Switch game, you'll come across vehicles like cars and boats to help ease navigation.
While walking the map you will also encounter side activities to dive into when you approach Toads that have been folded into origami.
Rescue Princess Peach from the paper menace King OllyNintendoOnce you unfold these Toads, they will return to the hub of Toad Town where they will open up a new shop or even join your party to help out in combat.

"One major feature that makes the world where this adventure takes place special is that there are huge maps to explore at every turn," explains Masahiko Magaya, director at Intelligent Systems.
"Because the game is laid out this way, we were careful during the design phase to make sure there is always something in the player's field of vision to catch their attention".
In previous games, levels were specific to chapters which meant they took place in isolated areas which were explorable.
The open-world will be a huge change to the game, especially with the addition of vehicles and side quests.
The story unfolds as the Mushroom Kingdom has been ravaged by an origami menace called King Olly, who wants to fold the entire world. This ambitious king has taken over control of Princess Peach's castle and brought the majority of Bowser's army into his fold.
Paper Mario: The Origami King launches later this month on Nintendo Switch on July 17.
