The plane, a single-engined Cessna, was flying to the capital San José. “The Bridgewater family lost Bruce Steinberg (a senior investor at Bridgewater and a wonderful man) and his family,” its founder Ray Dalio tweeted. “Right now, we are each processing this devastating tragedy in our own ways. At this time. I will be devoting my attentions to doing this and helping others.”Billionaire Dalio is one of the world’s richest people and stepped down from the firm last year. Steinberg had graduated from Columbia Business School before going to work for Connecticut-based Bridgewater. Dalio founded the firm in 1975 and it manages about $150 billion (£111 billion) of investments. A family of four from Florida, another American and two crew members were also killed. There were no survivors from the crash, thought to have been caused by strong winds.
