The Howard de Walden Estate has appointed the deputy chairman of JLL UK as its new chief executive, the Harley Street landlord has revealed.
Andrew Hynard will start his role as boss of the estate- which owns most of the buildings in 92 acres of Marylebone- in October.
Hynard, who has 30 years of experience in the property sector, will replace long-standing boss Toby Shannon who announced in February he planned to retire.
He will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Peter Barton, chairman of the Howard de Walden Estate said the new chief executive “will bring a very broad experience of the property sector with an outstanding reputation for leadership, business expertise and integrity”.

The aristocratic family property empire is one of the major landowners in the capital, tracing its history back to the Domesday Book in 1086.
Most recently the firm told the Evening Standard it was on the hunt for “medical tourists” to help attract clients from across the world to its Harley Street premises.
