Lewis Hamilton-backed Neat Burger promo to see sales help clean up the ocean

The plant-based burger chain backed by F1 star Lewis Hamilton has pledged to remove nearly half a kilo of plastic waste from the seas for every one of its Filet-no-Fish burgers sold in London for a week.

The burger joint has teamed up with American firm 4ocean, which offers the same reward when it makes sales of its recycled material bracelets, for the initiative.

Neat Burger, which already plants a tree for every burger sold, launched in London in September 2019 with a site on Regent Street and substantial publicity owing to the Hamilton connection. The driver partnered with Beyond Meat’s Tommaso Chiabra, also a co-founder of Unicef Next Generation scheme, for the project.

The chain said that for a week from Tuesday 8th June the promotion will take place across all three of its London sites, and that customers who buy the £7.99 Filet-no-Fish burger will be given a 4ocean bracelet as a thank you.

The burger joint will also make a contribution to 4Ocean's Pound+ program for every Filet-no-Fish burger ordered at a Neat store throughout 2021.
