Despite bumper online growth, Dixons Carphone’s boss Alex Baldock said the firm’s estate, over 900 shops, remains important to the business.
Baldock said: “We're winning online... Still, most customers prefer to buy technology through a mix of online and in store.”
He said a number of people have opted to order online and collect items in store an hour later. For big ticket items many customers still want to see goods in stores before buying them.
Meanwhile in April Dixons Carphone launched ShopLive, where workers in shops can do live video chats with customers at home showing how certain products work.
