Halfords boss Jill McDonald said the companies were “a strong and complementary addition to the group” and reiterated a belief in the “long-term growth potential of the cycling market”.
Halfords has been a chief beneficiary of the growing popularity of cycling prompted by the success of British cyclists like Sir Bradley Wiggins.
It has rolled out more cycling-only stores under the Cycle Republic brand and is responsible for one in three bikes sold in the UK.
