Harry Kane a no-show at Tottenham training in bid to force through Man City move

Kane has grown frustrated at Tottenham's failure to win silverware and informed the club in May that he wanted to leave this summer.

City have emerged as the only viable option for Kane, who wants to stay in England, but they are also pursuing a £100m deal for his England team-mate Jack Grealish, who reported back to Aston Villa this morning.

Spurs were this morning refusing to comment on Kane's no-show but Levy warned in June that he will "do whatever is right for the club" when it comes to deciding the forward's future.

Kane has insisted he will be the master of his own fate, however, telling Gary Neville on The Overlap podcast in May: "I’m sure that [Levy] will want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career this moment in time."

Spurs are closing in on agreeing a fee with Atalanta, thought be around £47m, for Argentine centre-half Christian Romero. The 23-year-old would be the club’s second most expensive transfer after Tanguy Ndombele and their third signing of the summer, after Bryan Gil and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.
