Man dies after being Tasered by police in Llanelli

A man has died after being Tasered by police after officers were called over fears for his welfare.

The police watchdog said the man died after officers from the Dyfed Powys force were called out to an incident in Llanelli, south Wales.

In a statement, watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commissio said: "Officers attended and, during engagement with the man, it is understood a Taser was discharged.

"The man became unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead. The IPCC has begun an independent investigation."

Police said they were called to concerns about the welfare of the man.
