Cat 'lucky to be alive' after surviving 60C washing machine spin cycle

A cat survived a 60C spin cycle after falling asleep inside a washing machine.

Nine-month-old Bobby stowed away under blanket before the hot wash began.

Thankfully, the miraculous moggy avoided catastrophe when owner Lisa Keefe heard a loud banging sound – and spotted her beloved pet spinning around inside.

The terrified puss was on the verge of collapse when he was freed from the machine.

Vets told his owner he was “lucky to be alive”.

Ms Keefe, 47, from Nottingham, told the Sun: “I had taken Bobby outside, but he snuck back in when my back was turned.

“I rushed to the machine and could see the colour of his fur mixed in with the quilt. I was petrified.

“I think Bobby’s learned his lesson the hard way. He doesn’t go anywhere near the washer anymore.”

Bobby was treated for shock and required IV fluids during an overnight stay at the pet hospital.
